Is the far right in Western Europe really less nasty than its West European counterparts? Nick Griffin or Jean Marie Le Pen might be more carefully spoken than than Vadim Tudor, but any less politically palatable...?

The real story is surely that - contrary to some sterotypes - the far right is much stronger and better established in wealthy Western Europe.

Alas, most Romanians, regardless of education or ethnicity, don't think politics is worth having an opinion about. In Romania, it's not the far right that's dangerous, it's everybody else's nonchalance about who's running the country and making policy.
